National Amateur Football Association
|
The National Amateur Football Association (NAFA) was
established to offer a National Championship to leagues from
around the nation. **UPDATE** The NAFA will now offer a
Spring National Championship and a Summer National
Championship.
A unified coalition of leagues under one governing body.
Leagues are ranked nationally to advance to the Spring &
Summer National Championships.
The Divisions are set up by time zones: East, Central, Mountain
and West. Division Champions are then paired up by region:
East vs. Central become the East Conference and Mountain
vs. West become the West Conference. With the final
Championship set with the East vs. the West.
With this format, teams get the opportunity to play on a national stage without having the excessive travel during
regular season. The NAFA concerns itself with the teams and not with the hype. Players and teams come first. The
NAFA prides itself on being able to be flexible with its governing rules while still being firm enough to provide a
professional product on the field.

The National Amateur Football Association (NAFA) is designed to bring
together the best of America’s Spring minor-league teams to play at the
nations top locations in a championship bowl setting.
The National Amateur Football Association (NAFA) is dedicated to the
advancement and promotion of semi-pro/minor league football teams and
leagues in the United States.
In 1980, the AFA, was founded by Ronald J. Real under the name Minor
Professional Football Association (MPFA). It's main function was to conduct
an annual post-season championship tournament for teams calling
themselves minor-league. The NAFA is here to carry on Ron Reals' dream.
In our first year, so far, two leagues have joined the national association and
are excited to be playing games that are conducted on this level of football.
With the NAFA bringing respect back to amateur football, it has renewed
faith in the term "Minor League Football".

Come join the NAFA and carry on the dream that Ron Real envisioned. Bring respect back to adult amateur football and help carry on the legacy.

NAFA Reactivates the Womens Spring Football League
|
The National Amateur Football Association (NAFA) has plans to reactivate the Womens Spring Football League (WSFL)
with a minor league format. The WSFL will run in 2009 with a similar format that the WPFL ran with, the "No Limits" Barnstorming
Tour back in 1999. The WSFL is looking to build a solid foundation and building on that. The womens football industry is not
professional, meaning that players don't get paid to play football. Everyone hopes that womens football can be run
professionally, but have not achieved the level of competitiveness to be considered what mainstream society considers as a
professional team. The WSFL feels this is misleading to the players, the sponsors and most importantly the fans. The WSFL is
getting back to the basics and keeping fees low for the teams and keeping travel to a minimum. This will help teams survive for
the long haul.
